Get Your Veggie Garden Started this Fall with a Few Raised Beds
Despite the rising temperatures, fall is just around the corner and for us Texas gardeners that means the coming of a second round of great gardening weather. Over the next few posts, I’ll be discussing what to do for a great fall season of gardening. In this post I will discuss how to build a garden bed and get your ground prepared for a fall vegetable garden.
Here’s what you’ll need.
- Material such as cinder blocks or edging bricks to create borders
- Water hose
- String trimmer
- Soil
- Grass clippings (optional)
- Hoof or bone meal (optional) (Found at feed stores.)
- Shovel
- Wheel barrow
- Old newspaper or cardboard
- Brick glue (optional)
